I found the article on Gisborne particularly interesting.  I was already somewhat familiar with his work.  I used to collect insulators and somewhere I have a porcelain beehive insulator incused 'Gisborne Pattern'.

Walter C. Auld was the Vice President of the company, and always was the "Company archivist" while they were Island Tel. He wrote the book after retiring. There are some very interesting chapters in it...

Because of its geographical location and being an Island, PEI was forced to adopt the new technologies, and they did so at a relatively early date. Their Microwave systems became the example for the TCTS microwave years later!It was a relatively small company that could!
