Birthday 302

My better half bought me a nice 302 for my birthday - a metal body 1942. I would guess that this was the final batch of the metal bodies given the war effort.

Nice one! and in particularly excellent condition given that most of these have much more wear around the cradle area.

Very nice 302, Tom.  Looking at the dates it's amazing to think that dial was made right around the time of the attack on Pearl Harbor in December of 1941.  So the January dates are consistent.  The dial was left-over from December and this was first run production after New Year's Day.  Nice phone, nice gift!

I find it fascinating that one of the first topics of conversation on this phone will have been about the attack on Pearl Harbor and the US response to that.
