What are these and does anyone have one or two?

I know the early AE 34's and 40's had beautiful bakelite colors, but I didn't know tenite existed in 1938. Are these prototypes?

could be generic "Anyphones" made for Eastman's advertising?   Intended to look similar to several phones but not identical to any?

I have an Ivory Stromberg Carlson. I found it when I first started collecting and it looked so good I thought it was a fake. It was cheap enough that I took a shot.

The plunger is black and the plungers on both my color North phones are black as well. I wonder why you go to all the trouble of color phones and NOT do the plungers! Or at least make them clear like the WEs....Doug

Those colored phone look just like SC 1191s.  I have an SC 1191 in boring old black baklite.  I sure wouldn't mind having a set of them in colors :)

Right, Larry.  They're stunning, if you can find one that hasn't suffered from the dreaded shrinking and warping.

Paul-f,

That phone is beautiful.  I'll trade you for my black one ;).

BTW, for those who may not be aware, the big bulging round thing where the dial would normally be is the ringer gong.

Thanks, Larry.  I already have black, but would be open to discussing lavender.  ;)

Doug: Original SC plungers matched the housing.  Here are some 1197 photos (Not my sets).

North was a different story.  They used ivory or brass colored plungers on the ivory sets and black on most of the rest of the colors.
