I have 17 old phones some no dial, some dial and one touch tone. The touch tone doesn't have a * or # key just 10 buttons. They all work. Three are  magneto phones with batteries and they are connected together and can talk between them.
Over 2 years ago I dropped my land line and that put an end to using the phones except the magneto phones to show how they worked.
I recently got a xlink that uses bluetooth to connect to a cell phone and you plug the xlink into you home wiring and my old phones will work. The cell phone has to be in range of the xlink. I can receive and make calls from the old phones with the xlink as a patch

Xlink is great for a few phones. I use mine daily to power three phones at a time (wouldn't go more than that) and rotate through my collection when the mood strikes.

I have my xlink hidden under my desk, so as soon as I get home and put my cell in the drawer, its connected.
