New forum members are very welcome and encouraged to take a guess. After all, there are no wrong guesses, just one lucky one. No one knows the winning bid on any auction until it ends. However, it is important to get your guess in before someone else grabs your guess.

Listed about 4 hours ago in a 7 day auction with no reserve and starting at $39.99 ( with thanks to LarryInMichigan for the tip ) is another rare telephone than the one seen in Auction Contest 292. This phone is a complete WE pink 1712 B Princess Interphone dated 4-65. The seller provided an array of external only images. It seems to be in overall good condition. Since being listed, the phone received 2 bids from 2 buyers raising the price to $45.00. It will go higher but again the question is who best knows what the phone will sell for when the auction ends? And with the last auction exposing a relative market value, the guesses should be a bit higher this time around.

NOTE:  We will use a $5.00 gap rule between guesses to prevent crowding. As such, keep your guess at least $5.00 away from prior guesses for this contest. All guesses, original and a single allowed revised guess if needed, must be submitted at least 24 hours before the auction ends.

The seller listed it as a "Vintage Western Electric Bell System Pink Princess 10 Button 2 Line Telephone" with the item condition as "Used" and "All original unusual old princess phone..." and with the auction listing description saying simply "Nice dated 1965 pink version of the Princess push button phone in good shape.....The model on this one is 1712B, and in addition to being a pretty early 10 button pushbutton model, this is a 2 line phone with an external ringer unit, everything you see is included.....The phone itself has a G3 handset, its original coil cord and the long pink cord that runs to the ringer box.....Phone is in good shape with no chips or cracks to the plastic, not faded funny or other issues, the hang up buttons are mismatched, but you could switch lines using those buttons, so I think they are original also.....The ringer box is marked as shown on the back, nice that its matching in pink, but it has a bunch of paint spatter that will need removed......I have no idea if its working or not, its untested, but a very nice and original set up of an unusual model phone....Hopefully a good find for a collector or to be fixed up and put back to work"

I thought Christian was a bit overly optimistic in his guess but within the last hour, it jumped to $510 with 5 days to go.

Color and phone type will drive this one.

Now (bid is) $810.00!
I'm going to join Christian in the thin air.
