Title: How to Post a Search Link to Documents in the TCI Library
Post by: paul-f on September 19, 2020, 06:50:06 PM
Please avoid posting links that go directly to a file in the TCI Library. Direct file links will probably change as the Library evolves and is periodically reorganized. This will result in useless dead links in the forum.

Instead, post a search link.

A search link is created by performing a standard search which returns the desired document (and few others). Then copy the URL for the resulting search to your forum post.

For example, a link to find 1916 WE Catalogs looks like this:

https://www.telephonecollectors.info/index.php/search?q=1916+we+catalog (https://www.telephonecollectors.info/index.php/search?q=1916+we+catalog)

REMINDER:

There will undoubtedly be changes to the TCI Library file structure caused by a future upgrade of our software tool set -- probably within the next year or two.

Please remember to post search links as described above, rather than links that point directly to files.

Any links going directly to files will probably stop working, resulting in many forum posts to potentially helpful files having useless dead links.
