Hi! I have an ARF thread about this issue too: http://antiqueradios.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=322935

As you can see, I am looking for a replacement meter for my tester. The original was a 1mA full scale movement with 160 ohms of resistance. Would anyone have a spare meter, or a parts tester, or a movement that would mechanically fit the original housing? I want to make this tester work again! Thanks!

Have you seen this meter, on eBay? It looks very similar and it's only $19.60 and you could make an offer for less. If it doesn't work, you can get your money back via PayPal. Your dad can use a credit card if he doesn't have a Paypal account and still be covered. It's worth a try.

Also there are others on eBay if you search on "tube tester meter" but they're more expensive. Good luck with your tester!
