What's the difference between e-mailing a member (via the forum) and sending a personal message?
Thanks, John

Some members choose not to show thier email address, some do show their email address.
For example:

If someone wanted to contact me they can either email me directly or send me a PM.

Your profile does not show an email address. So if someone wanted to send you a message the only way to contact you is to send you a private message (PM).

Once a PM is sent you will recive an email message from the forum server that you have a PM waiting

...that is, if you have it set that way in your settings.

Emailing is not via the forum. It is a direct email from your personal email to theirs.
