I've been looking at this for a while, wondering WTH? Price is down from $85.

Anyone here know how those were used and how they work?

Seems to me they had something to do with purchases on credit.  For example you go shopping in a department store and bring your stuff to the counter, and then they use one of these to call the credit department and check your account, and give you a date-stamped receipt for the goods.  But beyond that (if that's even correct in the first place), it's a puzzle.

this was a nice toy for department store staff... I've seen these on ebay recently, as far as the practice for it, its on the TCI website, I've seen it... interesting documentation... these are museum pieces only, cant be used anymore unless all the components are there and to find the ribbon for the stamp??? good luck! is NCR even still around???
