Thanks,
Mo

Thats cool, I'm pretty sure its worth more that 14.99!
It appears to be under the correct category. You may want to list it in the telephone category also. IIRC someone in one of the phone clubs was looking for one a few years back, maybe he still wants it!
Done!
Thanks
Mo
I found a picture of them testing the pager

Where do you find these pictures?

Ah, ok. What did you dad do, I assume he wasn't a installer if he was at the lab...
Ben
He was with IL Bell for 40 years-he did many things, working his way up to management. The City of Chicago held many trials and testing of new Bell System products. My Dad was head of Mobile Radio Dept. at the time when they were testing out BellBoys before they went to market.

Very cool! I like that you added it to the auction! Great description!
I met a Ham operator once who had a bell boy pager and transmitter. Without the antenna he could (illeagally )transmit around 3 miles.
Jim
Have an old Bellboy pager but it is larger and i think it has the older 1960s Bell logo. built by Motorola though.
Motorola made the pagers for Bell System. This one was a pageboy by Motorola.
Mo
I have the larger one and the small one. Mine are not branded with the operating company.
Jim
I assume the large one is older. The Ham had a small one. The bell Boy's would just beep. You would then call your contact person to see who was paging you.
We have a hand full of the clips off of these pagers, I think they came from a hamfest several years ago. They were just cut off of the back of the metal cover on the pager. IIRC ours say Indiana Bell.

Bellboy sold for $35 to a new Forum member, I couldn't be happier! :D
