A Pair of Western Electric Candlesticks

I received a pair of WE candlesticks today and would like to find out more about them.  One has "40BU" on its perch, and the other has "40BF".  The 40BU has a push button on its shaft and a 323 transmitter.  The 40BF has a small 302W transmitter.  Both phones have Bower-Barff finishes, I believe.  I have not been able to find any information about these sticks online.
