One of the interesting items in my vintage phone tapping box is a "Made in Western Germany" Phono-Trix Amplified Speaker with suction cup pick-up. I don't know if that appeals to classic rotary phone buffs but here is an image of this 1960's listening device.

It takes 4 C batteries and works.

This can be placed on a telephone, glass panel or door to amplify sound on the other side.

I have one of those suction cup pickups but Ive never used it beyound making sure it worked the first time I got it from the Layfayette store.

Nothing I say on the phone is worth wasting tape on I guess.  I named my WIFI network "FBI Surveillance Van 23"  and get the same effect without going to any effort.
