Western Electric?

One thing that annoys me as I surf eBay is "Western Electric?" used indiscriminately to describe any old hamster coffin someone digs out of the barn.  It is as if the seller thinks the question mark obsolves them of mis-representing an item.  My favorite is the ones that are clearly marked "Stromberg-Carlson" and such.  Let's start a friendly competition to see who can come up with the best example of a wooden telephone or parts that are the most egregious examples of the phenomenon.  Once we have enough candidates we'll vote on them.

Is the picture in reply #3 of a Dean arm?

Hard to tell from that angle, looks a little too oval.  I think I have one of these somewhere and it is not a Dean.

There's worse things being called "Western Electric", I think this one is a bit too obvious though... :D

I moved the fake wall phones to "Examples of Reproduction Wall Phones" which covers true fakes.   I started this thread to illustrate another pitfall of buying wood phones on eBay: sellers labeling everything "Western Electric" no matter who made it.  I have also started nominating examples, feel free to nominate others.

The phrase I always thought was funny is "Candlestick Wallphone".

"Old Oak Western Electric Hand Cranked Telephone Ringer Box"

http://www.ebay.com/itm/360633060140

(Maybe the seller should be cut some slack because it does have a WE condenser.)

This worm zapper actually sold for almost $90
