How do I remove the dial center? (Starlite)

Hi
Just got my second American telephone up and running.
A starlite wall telephone, but how do I remove the the dial center?
Twist, tools?? I do not want to be too tough with it only postage of a starlite telephone is $30!

AE had two or more versions of the dial on that series of phones.  If you can post a picture, it would help.

The first link you posted is for one version of the AE dial, and the second one is very similar to the AE dial, but is for a WE dial.  Either of those describe the earlier Starlite dial removal, but there is a later version of all AE phones, including the Starlite, where the dial number card was simply a gummed laminated label that was stuck with the gummy adhesive over the top surface of the plastic center.  When you remove that label, there is a center screw with a phillips head that removes the finger wheel.

This latter method of attaching the dial is very easy for an installer to install or remove the finger wheel, but the adhesive dial number cards are really crappy, and nobody I know of makes them any more if one wants to replace them.
