1543 is the single line set in the 1500-series.

W = automatic equalization network
J = 60 Hz ringer

You'll find a lot of info in the TCI Library, including wiring diagrams simply by searching for 1543.

The more I learn, the more things I find to learn more about.

Unfortunately, I can't remember it all.  A key is knowing where to find info.  If only we could wave a magic wand and have it all on-line and well organized.
