Title: Rose Bellsouth Trimline - not mine
Post by: HarrySmith on July 02, 2020, 07:32:25 PM
Perusing eBay and this Rose color Trimline caught my eye. Figured it was a newer model but the label was a big surprise! Made in Malaysia!

Yeah, a little disappointing when you think you are buying a brand name made in North America and discover that it's made off shore!

Here's one I was going to post a couple days ago. Same phone but looks like a real one. Is it desirable since it has a colored line cord and not a flat one with an RJ11?

Almost anything branded by one of the Baby Bells is going to be made overseas. I have seen some early Northwestern Bell branded phones that seem to have been made by Western Electric but otherwise it was all contracted out. They can still be kind of interesting, especially in the historical context of the Baby Bells trying to ape their former parent and get into the customer premises equipment market
