Title: Dial Fingerstops - remarked. not mine
Post by: HarrySmith on July 19, 2020, 03:11:47 PM
I just saw a listing by Phoneco for 2 fingerstops. Both are for #2 dials. Both are stamped 2HB but one had the "B" X'ed out & restamped. What is the purpose of that? It was already marked with the "B".

Oops,  the fingerstops were supposed to be pre-sorted to be re-stamped B.
So it was.
Just my guess

I have seen some dials with the number plate letter Xed out with no replacement. I don't know what purpose that served.

It might be that such a dial was refurbished and became a "B" (with letters) again.
