How to take off model 500 dial face plate

Hello guys!

its been a very long time since my last post here in the forums. Can anyone help me. A friend of mine is also into telephone restoration and he can't remove the dial face plate. attached is a photo he sent me. This is an ITT 500 model. Can anyone help us?

underneath the "spider" shaped piece that the fingerwheel snaps onto, you should find a small metal ring going around the outer circumference of the inside of the dial ring.  That ring has 3 fingers cast into the inside of it, when rotated into place those fingers slide into slots in the dial frame thus holding the face on.  If you carefully rotate it counter clockwise it should come loose and the dial face should come off also.  It's sometimes hard to get them to turn, I usually just carefully push on them with a screwdriver at those 3 locking spots.  A little pressure at all of those spots in order should get it to rotate.
