I was wandering around Portland, Maine last week (a beautiful city, by the way), and discovered that there are dozens or hundreds of these Bell System manhole covers all over town. They look just like the one in McHeath's original post, with the words "Bell System". Made me want to pry one up and take it home - who would miss just one?
