That is enough snow to cancel school?
It took a lot more than that to shut down schools in Conn. back when I was a kid!

It took THAT to shut down schools?!?

We're lucky if 3 feet of snow gets us a snow day!

Is it weird that I (half paying attention to what I was reading) thought I was looking at pictures of cells under a microscope in the first three pictures? I'm tired...it's a Monday... ;D

I know what you mean Christian.  When I was in school, the snow had to cover the school superintendent's bedroom window before school would be closed.  He lived in a two story house and his bedroom was on the second floor!

What happened to the pictures?? They are gone?

Yes, I deleted them since they were causing so much angst.

I thought that was the whole idea of this thread?

Relief is when you see the pictures here.  Angst is when you see the snowy heaps outside the window.  ;D

We don't get snowy heaps here.  Every once in a while, we get a couple inches of icy crap that turns the roads (with lots of hills) into skating rinks.

Down here, 4 inches are snowy heaps.  We have just gotten caught up on our rainfall that we can burn outdoors again.   We're well forested here with lots of debris.

I thought the pictures clearly showed some raccoon tracks, apparently not.

It's been "lightly dusting" here the past couple of days, some is sticking, but the rest just melting on contact, would have taken pictures, but I've been playing with my lamp all day... :P

;) Now a telephone related picture. How to deal with frosty soil?
That is what they do before digging.  Charcoal under a split barrel. Insulation mat on top.

What a waste, they didn't even cook a steak of a few burgers...  ;D
