I started working on my next project and it's gotten me really confused. Please look at the pics. The date of the shell is 7-28-59 and everything else is 12-59. The handset is not a 6 hole. Maybe leftover parts?
Thanks

I would guess the handset was replaced when it was refurbed in 1972. What dates are in the handset & on the caps?

The "2" is visible on the handset cord strain relief.  Probably that date in June of '72.  If I were going to wager a bet on Tenite or ABS, I'd say it's ABS (hard plastic).

Sometime ago somewhere on this forum I've heard that Tenite was thicker than ABS. Is that true and if so, can a micrometer be used to determine the shell thickness, if anyone knows the specs?
