Now I remember installing a yellow blackboard telephone in mother's house.
Wonder what happened to it.
Did the blackboard door swing out?
No.  Now I remember there was an opening opposite the telephone for the telephone book.
Presumably it could be hung so thathe telephone was on the right or left side.  Hers was on the right.
A shallow depression in the top to hold chalk.
I'd take an educated guess but am unqualified.
In paramediclass, doctor asked me signs of Alzheimers.  "I forget.", I answered.

To ensure an emergent transport call, I need only:
- take first sip of beer when eating pizza
- start shampooing in the shower
- pull bed covers over and get warm and cozy
- begin my OCD oil change.  (Remove oil plug to drain overnight.)

Stormcrash

That phone is called the Noteworthy

Thank you.

Could they be hung so thathe telephone could be on either side?
Now I remember a tray with lip holding the telephone book which could be partially slid out.
I'd take an educated guess but am unqualified.

Thank you.
Found instructions.

Changing the handset between left and right

Follow the instructions for removing the front frame above.
Remove the main body of the phone from the wall using the instructions below.
Rotate the phone so the handset is on the side you like and re hang the phone.

Removing a phone from the wall

If you have a phone on the wall and can't figure out how to remove it, there are two methods used in mounting this phone to the wall.
The easiest to deal with is the locking tabs. These are found near the edge of the main body on the inside. They are oval shaped and have a slot in the center. Pry these out with a screw driver and lift the phone up and off the metal frame.
The other way of mounting can be very difficult to deal with. There will be a mounting catch at the top center of the main body, close to the wall. You need to stick a narrow screw driver down into the slot to disengage the locking mechanism. It takes a lot of trial and error to get it, don't give up in frustration!

It's a treat to find Noteworthy sets with the wall plate. Many plates were left on the wall or discarded when the phones were removed from service.

Thank you.
I do not remember a wall plate.
How did I mount it?
(Much in my life has been improvisation.)
(Means: Rarely having the right parts.)

How did I mount it?..
I don't have one here - but do have one at work I can check tomorrow, but there should be 4 slotted holes on each side - the frame for the cork board/chalk board slides into one side, and the bracket slides into the back (same hole locations on each side).

You could build a backboard using the frame for the cork board/chalk board as a template (basically screws in the same location should work).

A phone phanatic since I was less than 2 (thanks to Fisher Price); collector since a teenager; now able to afford to play!
Favorite Phone: Western Electric Trimline - it just feels right holding it up to my face!

Thank you.
I do not khow I mounted the Noteworthy noremember what I did with it.  (From a garage sale, never knew its name.)   I probably gave ito Goodwill Thrift Store.
Wish that I could find one at a thrift store.    Garage sale season is approaching.   But by now most people have replaced their telephones with cell phones.
(In 1989 I was the first of all I knew to have a cell phone.  3-watt Motorola Bag Phone through US West Cellular.  Still same number!)
