This appears to be an very early Mobile Telephone not the advertised desk set.

Very well marked. Western Electric and Bell System. Looks to be in amazing condition. Cords look great, looks like cloth wires inside the thick rubber cord.

Anyone have any idea of how this would have mounted?

This sure is different....Doug

An interesting display piece. Did you buy it Doug?

Doug Rose

I did hedge for a moment, but I did buy it.

It looks to be a little dirty, but otherwise in stellar condition. Probably didn't much use...Doug

Wow, what a nice find. That's really exciting Doug.  Would be a nice project to hook it up and see if it still works.
Congrats.

Edit: After reading the link you provided, looks like several other attachments needed to use it. But what a great find, especially in such good condition.

I received the Car Phone this morning. Its is in wonderful condition, just had to get the dust off. Never have I been so nervous working on a decal or the Desi's  on the front!

This is a challenge to display as I do not have the mounting parts, so I rigged a stand out of a dial box. This is strong cardboard and appears to hold the phone in place. So far  ???

Cords are perfect, decals are perfect. Desi's are wonderful as well. Few scratches on the back, but considering it has bounced around for Sixty Plus years it is in remarkable shape.

A very fortunate find...Doug

Wow amazing phone,
Find of the month for sure!
You could probably get some of the indicator lamps to light up off 12 VDC.
