Tooooo xcited....

I think I have found myself  -  a Galion.

Rubbish dark photos but I'm pretty sure that's what I've bought - my knowledge is less than limited  :D

I know nothing about it. Haven't a clue as to it's age (I don't even know where to look or how to tell - yet). I had to reference this site and the members helpful posts to even identify it.

It won't get to me for at least a month, but had to share!

Will update this thread once this special parcel arrives.....

Hopefully you end up with a nice one...!

Thank you. I hope so, but I don't know  :(  - you guys will need to advise me. I've never actually seen one, I just like the look of them so snapped this one up whilst I had the chance. I'm pretty sure it is a Galion, if not it could be a Neo - or knowing my luck a 'Neolion'   :'(

The only detaiil I could see from the dark photos is that it needs a good clean. The feet look like they are brown leather (?) and there is no centre hole in the mouthpiece and earpiece. Maybe none of them did though.....

I will learn more when it arrives.....   :-[

Google search "Galion Telephone" and find a close match and post a link to the photo.

As far as I can tell, it looks like this one. Same baseplate (but photo I saw poor so I couldn't tell if any etched writing on it), same vented rear, same style feet. Same Z/Operator/0. With a 2 pin plug.
However, the fingerwheel on the one coming to me isn't black (the dial card ring is the same style though - but not the same style dial card as this example):

Hope that all makes some sense.  ;D

Update: I'm told the delivery driver couldn't find the house (4ft housename sign outside clearly not large enough). So he gave up. I haven't a clue where the parcel is now. Delivery company has gone quiet and seller has no tracking number. Am not impressed.

.....and now the seller says they are sending it back to him... Good grief, not even a second attempt at delivery.

I'm chasing this one up the best I can for 're'-delivery, but I'm getting concerned about how many pieces this phone might arrive in if/when it turns up.
I just hope there aren't too many speed bumps on the driver's delivery route.

Yodel by any chance?

I tried, but he didn't hear me!  ;)  Boom boom!!

Well, it is due to arrive tomorrow. I calculate it has travelled at least 1000km since I bought it.
My concern now is that it has survived. I gave the 'please bubble wrap individually/pad box/double box' instructions, so fingers crossed everyone.

Got it!

Whew. Arrived safely and in great condition. Much better than I had hoped for from the photos.
And so tiny! I thought they were bigger. Very cute.

...And I have questions. New thread under correct heading needed?

I'm not a mod but, I think pictures and questions in this thread would be appropriate.

My goodness...one month for delivery...I'd be livid!

Yes we encourage discussions about a phone to continue in a single thread. Staying on the appropriate board is not a requirement worth splitting discussions up for.

Carry on...
