One for an answering machine may be the only one I have, or I may just buy a seperate answering machine.  I HATE when people are walking around K-Mart with those things on, it sounds like they're asking for help and then you walk over just to see that stupid headgear on them!!  I love my cell phone, I'm addicted to text-messaging and am also only home a couple hours before bed, so it's kinda a necessity for me.  When I'm home, I always walk downstairs to use one of my two rotary phones I have hooked up in my room if I need to call somebody.  Luckily, my black WE has a cord that is about 7-8 feet, when it's completely coiled on it!  I like to pace and talk, so it also has a 25 foot line cord on it if I feel the need to carry the phone with me. 
But I digress.....
