As cool as it sounds.. Doesnt look right to me how can this be authenticated?
If it indeed is a very same phone, and where did this guy get it from??
I dont want to be a nay sayer, but it just doesnt ring right.

311W transmitter is listed on page 290 in the WE Catalog Number 3 (1916?). Similar to the 329 except without the clamping bolt.

Thanks for that - it satisfies my curiosity but does not redeem this telephone. Not the original transmitter and the phone (including the receiver) has been painted. Not the way to treat an historical artefact and I've had a quick look but I can't find the event documented anywhere.

A manual phone in that institute in 1927 in DC?  I have a feeling this is fake.
