My Dad and I were drawing a blank for what to give my Mom for Christmas. It was the 23rd. :o I had the idea of replacing the cheap Pier One Imports clock on our mantel (which has died at least a dozen times in the last 5 years) with an antique.
We found this one on ebay, and it came today. Even though the seller said it was from the 1930s, this manufacturer went out of business at the start of the Great Depression in 1929, so this has to be earlier. My Dad did some research, and it seems to be from around 1925.
It's in great condition, and it work perfectly! Chimes once every half hour, and chimes for the number at the hour. (7 times at 7:00, 11 times at 11:00, etc)
My Mom loves it, and I do too! In fact, I can hear chimes coming from my Dad's computer as he's watching vintage clock restoration videos! I hope I didn't start something... ;D
Very nice, we have a Forestville Mantle Clock.
