I have this TA-222 p/t and need some info and a schematic
I need to know how the indicator is wired, and why the sleeve and ring are tied together.
also, what is this silver thing?
I have a schematic of the part that I made.
I would like to see the schematic for the rest of the board.
Thanks.

You may see the complete manual here: http://radionerds.com/images/f/f7/TM_11-5805-262-34.pdf
The silver thing may be a diode in series of the signal indicator.  (look at page 10 in the document)

I beleive the TA part number and the MFP stamp indicate Signal Corps equipment.

I remember the TA-22/PT from I served, and have almost bought one several times, but shipping, and Norwegian customs has been to expensive for making that interesting enough.

I do have a German (Nato) field exchange so I may use my magneto phones if I want to.

You should have a cylider on the back of the unit with room for a number of D-cells.

The operators pack schematics are not good in the manual mentioned, so you should look at :

The only thing who should have been better on the SB-22 is the trunk-pack. It has a capacitor isolating tip on the CB line from Tip on the LB line, but nothing on the ring wire. At least a capacitor on the ring would made it better, and a transformer giving real insulation would have been perfect!
