Headset designed for what?

Among something else I got this headset-set with leater case but what is it?
It works together with the German wwii field telephone FF33.

2 receivers, and straps.
ok, what does a ff33 look like?

Yes, It is just to unplug the handset, and plug it in.

An alternate config for a handset...
The same as a cord board had...hand held, chest mounted.
It was prob not for hands free operation, as you still had to hold the receiver.
hmmm? don't see an advantage that that config.

Very interesting photo. Studying it, we have a room in an outbuilding which is identical in construction, right down to the placement of the window. I often wondered why the room was separated the way it is from the other parts, and the only one with electricity.

It may very well have served the same purpose as the room shown in the photo, as the property was occupied by the SS Panzer Division during WWII.

Funny enough, tomorrow my son and me will be going to visit the "Bunkermuseum" here in Zoutelande/Netherlands where we are for holidays.
On their website I stumbled across the word "Regelbau" (standard design construction). The nazis had planned their aggression long in advance and developed such military buildings elaborately. It is not unlikely that you own a building of the exact same type as that one on the picture.

We just were in the bunker museum in Zoutelande and they had some telecommunication equipment in the display! The chest mic and the switchboard were both there. The museum consists of 2 original "Atlantikwall" bunker sites in the spectacular sand dunes of the Zeeland coast. It is small, but impressive and is run by volunteers.
