Title: Need help identifying this mouth piece insert.
Post by: Welsh on October 07, 2015, 05:22:09 PM
I found this button shaped spit cup cover on a kellogg 900 phone i bought recently. I'm not sure it is even kellogg brand but fits nicely under the ring retainer on the handset. The phone works perfectly with the part installed  even though it looks like the disk would completely obstruct the holes. Obviously they aren't blocked or your voice would be muffled to the person on the other end of the line. I would love to know what this part is called and what phone it is supposed to be from. Linesmen's handset perhaps to cut down on wind noise or something? I wrote to oldphoneworks and he hasn't seen one before either and i haven't found another example online yet. Thanks to anyone who can shed light on this item.

If you can still hear clearly through it. My guess is the linemanes wind block.

I actually like it. It looks cool even if it doesn't belong to this handset. it makes me think of a bullet transmitter even though it isn't one. It would still be good to know what phone it is made for.
