Just scrolling through WE phones on eBay and came across this odd looking phone. All I can find out is they were elevator phones. Is this something that can be used on a house line? I'm not certain I want to buy it right now but do like it since it is unique looking.

EDIT: Went to get a photo of this phone for this topic and all I got was the eBay listing, the photos were gone 3 months after the listing ended. Photo for posterity lost forever. It really is important to include a photo along with an eBay link.

It's basically the same as a 302, only with a buzzer rather than a ringer. The 4E buzzer works on regular 90 VAC 20~.

322s were usually installed in flush mount enclosures, and occasionally in surface mount cabinets or custom installations.

I have a 332 new in the box and have been thinking of ways to display it, I like the photo you shared of the wood display.  Looks quite simple to build.

Here's a back view.  It does look like a very simple box, with the phone bolted to the back surface.

Looks like a modular jack on the back.  Convenient for display and easy to hook up a cord for use.

I'd be tempted to fill in the space above and below the phone on the right side, but it's not bad the way it is.

Here is a 322 stamped in a distribution shop in April 1975.
Interesting is that the induction coil bears the same date and that it is coded, month-year, not quarter year.
Just how long was the 101A made?  How late was this telephone type made?

Which distribution house used the symbol square box "G" ?

Cool Pictures... I'll have to get my neighbor next door to make me a case for it if I can ever pin him down to do it...otherwise, I'll have to jimmy-rig something.

I figure the least you could do is mount it on a piece of plywood so it can be put on the wall like a wall phone.

I saw this on Ebay... even though its northern telecom, it sure has changed....from a 322 to what I call a 2322.... so, this is what the new ones look like....

I hope it uses a modern network instead of a 101A induction coil.

There are more photos in the auction, including the circuit board.
