Title: WE 302 ring adjustment
Post by: sammytheboyboy on April 11, 2014, 09:22:41 AM
Hi everyone, I have what may be a dumb question but here goes. I have a beautiful WE 302 that I have on my desk at work that I use as my phone. However when it rings it is as loud as a burglar alarm and startles everyone including me. I know there is no physical adjustment on it like the later phones but is there any way I can soften the ring without losing the classic ring we all love? Thanks, Rich.

Open up the phone and you'll see 2 bells. There are two screws securing them. Loosen one of them and you'll notice the bell rotates. The hole in the bell is not drilled in the center, so when you rotate it it will get closer to the clapper. Turn it so it is really close to but not touching the clapper. Do it with both bells. The volume will deminish substantially.

You`re welcome. And remember, there are NO stupid questions. We were all unfamiliar at some point.

I think I can safely say, to a person, that we`re all here to help each other out.
