New forum members are very welcome and encouraged to take a guess. After all, there are no wrong guesses, just one lucky one. No one knows the winning bid on any auction until it ends. However, it is important to get your guess in before someone else grabs your guess.

Just listed in a 5 day auction with no reserve and starting at $99.00 is this very nice early 1957 WE soft plastic Mediterranean Blue 500 with gray handset cord and a chopped line cord. Inside dates shown in the listing photos show January 1957. The seller has posted good but less than a full array of pictures so the listing has a few unknowns. The phone received the initial opening bid within the first hour of being listed. So, who best knows what the phone will sell for when the auction ends?

This is a 5 days auction so there are only 4 days for getting your guesses in.

NOTE: we will use a $5 gap rule between guesses again to prevent crowding. As such, keep your guess at least $5 away from prior guesses for this contest.

The seller listed it as an "Rare 1957 Western Electric Mediterranean Blue 500 Desk Phone Soft Case nice!!!", the item condition as "Used" and "This phone is in Great Condition" and with the auction listing description saying simply "Up for Auction is a very nice Western Electric Mediterranean Blue Desk phone that is what I believe to be all Original. The phone rings and you can hear the other person when you pick up. Also a very nice and loud dial tone. I could not dial out, do not know how to make it dial out. We have a cable modem I do not know if that is the reason. Looks like only touch tone phones work on my land line. This phone is in Great Condition."
