Was it common for the local telecom company to mark their phone with a unique stamp? Just picked this up, and it seems to be from TX. Maybe referring to the Lone Star Telephone Company?

I have seen that snowflake stamp on quite a few phones. 302, 5302 & 500. I seem to remember a discussion on it but I can't find it, don't know if it was here or on the lists.

Ditto here Harry. Might have been on the TCI List.

It is a common refurbisher mark, not a logo of a telco.
