Very interesting!  Reminds me of when my older brother rigged an alligator clip to the plug end of a transistor radio earphone in the early 60s.  We were on a party line, and by attaching the alligator clip to our wall phone's metal finger-stop, you could hear conversations on the party line w/o lifting the receiver.  The novelty quickly wore off because the conversations were boring.
The idea that a four-year degree is the only path to worthwhile knowledge is insane.
