In all the years I have been collectingthis is the rarest of the rare payphones and maybe one of the rarest  Western Electric products ever. This is a W/E 235G rotary payphone. Which was also made in 10 Button which would be a 1235G. There is nothing in this payphone that is not unique,it is a great piece. look at the pictures and enjoy. This is one of two know to exist.

Automatic Electric also made a 3-slot rotary panel phone. The Automatic Electric wasn't done as fancy as the Western Electric. AE simply milled out the panel and mounted a standard 3-slot behind it. The hook switch was remoted and the coin gauge was replaced by a sheet metal assembly almost identical to the one in the Western 235G.

The most interesting part of these payphones is the way the coins after being put in the phone are turned 90 degrees by the top assembly. This allows them to fall into the coin track standing on end with the front or back of the coins facing forward rather than the edges.
Nice!
