Any ideas as to the manufacturer of this F1-type transmitter ?

I seem to remember reading about a company in or around New York City (Queens?) that made audio equipment, special telephone transmitters.

This transmitter doesn't seem special in its operation, works as expected.  Judging by the tarnish on the metal, it appears to be silver plated and cleans up accordingly to a silver sheen.

It looks like a Connecticut (CTE) F1 to me.

It is a bit unusual.  I've never seen one with screws on it before.

I guess I am wrong.  I just looked at a few CTE F1s, and they look different, without screws.  I think that I have seen one like this before somewhere though.

Thanks guys.
In the mean time I have found this forum post that appears to show an identical type.

I think I have seen one of these in another picture somewhere too, not on the forum, just can't think of it.

I think I got this with a box full of parts one time, mostly transmitters and receivers.

Here it is cleaned up a little.
