I have never seen a self contained 202 with the subset, with the subset being metal. The ones I have seen the subset is bakelite and most I have seen have been cracked from the pressure. This looks all metal. Your thoughts?.....Doug

I think that there was a thread here about one of these a while back.

It is real-- there's a picture of one on p. 125 of Dooner's Telephones Antique to Modern.  I recall seeing another one of these on ebay around three years ago, but they are anything but common.

Paul F has a blurb on them, I wouldn't know unless I had just read it couple days ago, though.

Agreed ....it is real. Seller sent me a picture of the bottom. I have never seen a metal base, but you are correct; Paul's site does list metal. This was made for a very short time.

Bingster .....this is a GREAT guess that Price. Very Rare and very different....Doug

Excellent idea, Doug.  This is auction contest 72, gang!  At what price will the phone end?  Get your guesses in before the auction's final day and you could be the next contest winner!

The set is shown most of the way down this page on Paul's site:

Thanks, Paul.  How did you do that?  I couldn't figure out how to link to that spot.

I have no idea what to guess on this one, so I'll lowball it at 540.

Thanks, Paul.  How did you do that?  I couldn't figure out how to link to that spot.

It's a "named anchor" coded on the page that acts as an on-page link.  As I put more of them on a page, I add a section at the top of the page. Once there, you can copy the link from your browser address line.

For example, see the "On this page" links on the Design Line page.
  http://www.paul-f.com/weDesignLine.html

There's no way to see where they are from a browser, but you can guess the page URL followed by a # and the model number or name.

I'll eventually add a lot more of them, but it's currently a relatively low priority.

$344.79 final price. 5 bids. Two of the bidders were forum members and the other 3 including the winner are unknown to me.

That seems awfully low for such a rare set.  Ah, well.

Did the auction ends normally or did they pull It?
