Hello;

I have had this old transmitter nickel plated a while back. I dont know what telephone set this is made for. Particularly with the type of the butterfly mount. Any suggestions/guesses are appreciated.

Thanks

Looks like it would go on an early version of a Western Electric 293 compact common battery wall telephone.  Appears it may have been renickeled.  The A.B.T Co. at the bottom of the faceplate makes it quite desirable.

I was just about to say it looked like it would fit a small wooden wall phone like a Western Electric 293, but you beat me to it.

Here is the results after I acquired a WE 293 wall set.

Thank you for your recommendations. Also thanks to Greg Sargent for working with me.

That is a real head turner.  :)

How complete was the phone when you found it?

Thank You

I bought the phone without the transmitter/receiver and cords.
Otherwise all other parts were there.

Really nice! Looks fantastic. IIRC that ABT marked transmitter is fairly rare. Congrats!

Definitely a FOTM contender!

Thanks Harry.

I am quite pleased with the outcome.

Looks great.  I have found ABT Co transmitters on a 293A and a 301A. There are bevelled versions as well.
