I have a real nice Federal stick. Had it for years. I cannot find a Bakelite MP. The threads are on the inside! NOT the outside.
I have been looking for years for one of these. PM me if you have one for sale .......or even a picture of one.
I wondered why I got this stick so cheap. Thanks...Doug
Will this one work?

Thanks Doug, I asked them if it would fit a Federal and they did not know. I was surprised you make a reproduction, but not sure what it fits. :o I didn't want to risk $25..other Doug
Years ago I compiled a mouthpiece interchange list. I used every interchange list I could find to make it as complete as possible
For US phones there are 4 common thread patterns and 1 inside thread pattern
The inside thread mouthpiece will likely work.
The 4 common thread patterns for reproduction mouthpieces are:
Western Electric
Stromberg-Carlson
Kellogg
AE
AE is the hardest to find as a repro.
Thanks Jim.....I took the leap of faith....thanks for the info.....Doug

Hope it works out for you Doug... ;)
Thanks Doug
Bad news is it is not even close, can't get it to catch. Too small to fit on the threaded MP. It is very well made, just not for a Federal. :'(...Doug

Sorry to hear that Doug.
'Twas a gamble

Years ago I compiled a mouthpiece interchange list.
Is it posted somewhere Jim?
I'd compare it with other lists - probably in the same way you did.

Not yet. I have mentioned it before.
I typed it out over 25 years ago . I still have a copy that I find from time to time. Next time I find it, I wanted to post it as a sticky topic.

OK, thanks Jim.

Here's a list of mouth piece sizes and thread pitch numbers dating back to 2012 and last updated in 2015 on CRPF. Not sure if it helps, but here it is for what it's worth.

Thanks Jeff. I had seen that, it's just that I like to merge all the lists I find and then try to resolve the conflicts.

Your welcome Jack. Jim mentioned a list that he compiles, but I'm sure someone in either ATCA or TCI also made up a list of mouth pieces, thread pitch and size for each, but it was some time ago, and I can't think of who it was. I did a Google search of the TCI Library, but I didn't have any luck. I also ran a normal Google web search, couldn't see anything that matched my query.
That would have been a useful addition to one of Meyer's "Old Time Telephones" books.
Jeff
They pop up from time to time but they are not usually tethered to something. And anything posted on FB is generally gone with 1.5 attention spans.
Best to grab them as they go past.
Jack
If anyone has a Federal MP I am interested...Doug
