Post your "Find of the Month" here.

A "Find of the Month" is a telephone or a related item that you acquired during the month that you are particularly excited about either because of its rarity, the difficulty you had in trying to find it for your collection or the exceptional "deal" that you got on it.

The "Find of the Month" contest is focused on the collection of telephones rather than on their sale for a profit. To be eligible for the "Find of the Month" contest:

- The finder must have personally acquired and actually own the item.
- The item can be acquired for free but it can not be a gift or present from anyone.
- The item (or any of its components) cannot be put up for sale during the contest period.
- Only one "Find" per owner can be in a "Find of the Month" contest.

A Nomination Should Include:

1) where and/or how the item was found.
2) the price & shipping cost.
3) the forum link to the topic discussing the find.
4) the eBay link if won there.
5) and other information of importance about the find.
6) one or two pictures of the item.
7) If the item is very cool to you for personal reasons, please share. This would be  your collection, birthday phone, phones from youth, basically, Why is that phone extra cool to you.

Ideally your item would be posted in its own thread elsewhere on the forum such as "Auction Talk", "Flea Market/Yard Sale Finds" or "Collectors Corner" Board. Then you or anyone else can nominate your "Find" to the Current "Find of the Month" thread by posting at least one picture and other details including the price paid, any shipping costs and a link to the original discussion on the forum. It is not a requirement that your find be posted elsewhere on the forum but the more details the better.

Nominations of phones listed in other forum discussion topics, by members that do not own the item but realize it is indeed a "find" worthy of being nominated as a "Find of the Month" candidate, are always welcome.

Please pick your best "Find" to submit for the month limiting your entry to one phone or one "Find" that might include limited multiple items. If you have already entered for the month and come up with something even better either submit your new find indicating that it replaces your previous entry OR you can enter your new Find in next months contest.

For this month, I am nominating my 1992 Cameo Green R2702BMG.   I found this on eBay and negotiated with the seller, eventually agreeing on a price of $30 (plus $14.35 S&H).

I'm nominating because Cameo Green is a somewhat rare Princess phone color.   Also, my final price was a great deal compared to the seller's original BIN price.  It really is a great addition to my Princess collection.

To be eligible for the find of the month, the phone needs to be  found  that month.

I do not see that in the rules but I do see this:

Please pick your best "Find" to submit for the month limiting your entry to one phone or one "Find" that might include limited multiple items. If you have already entered for the month and come up with something even better either submit your new find indicating that it replaces your previous entry OR you can enter your new Find in next months contest.

That does state you can post in the next month.

I see the statement about submitting for the next month,  so it is allowed. The intent is that it is a find that month.
I would wait until the end of the month to submit the  prior months find. This gives you motivation to find another good phone.
Some months you find many good phones, other months none.

This last month was a great one for me. I found a clear SC500, a clear back grillo, a swirl ericofone,  a green Kellogg banjo, and a brown swirl SC slimline. Most months I find nothing.

WOW! That was a great month. Those are some nice finds. Why didn't you submit any?

My daughter is getting married in my yard in 1 week. I have been extremely busy landscaping. I am lucky to grab any online time.

That was my interpretation.   Since i already had an entry in May when I found this submission, I held it until June.   However, if I found this month's phone in May but didn't submit it or anything else in May, it wouldn't be eligible for June.

CJ...I admit I don't know much about sticks outside the US. That being said, I always thought these were repros with matching metal receivers. Thanks for the education on these...Doug

I would like to nominate my red Nort Electric Ericofon. I bought it at an antique mall for $25.
Apparently the touchtone versions of this phone are rare, especially in working condition.

As suggested by Jim, I'll nominate my unidentified lineman's handset from this thread. I purchased it on the german Ebay classifieds site from a gentleman with turkish background living near Hamburg, for 50 Euros shipping included. The seller could not give any additional info on the set. Also, I did not find any similar set on the www. So it seems to be a single, oddball piece. The actual collapsible handset looks professionally made.
My personal theory is that it was manufactured as a masterpiece to qualify in the trade, obviously by H. Mende. Later the owner fitted the rotary dial, presumably at the time when the exchange he worked for was automated. As the item was only  for personal use at this point of time, the bracket was built more pragmatic. But that is just a theory. It would be interesting to know how this remarkable combination of mainly french and some german parts really came into being. For now, I call it my UPHO, the Unidentified PHone Object ;-)

You got a deal. That's a great test set. I agree, I have never seen anything like it....Doug
