Title: "Lucky" seller
Post by: HarrySmith on July 20, 2018, 06:36:15 PM
WOW! This is a "lucky" seller! Imagine finding not 1, but 2 Emergency-Presidential-Bat Phones!
What are the odds of that happening??

I'm always amazed at what lengths people go to, to try and sell something on eBay. Now, if he had documentation that the phone's were indeed special, or used by batman or even used by someone important, that might be something to jump on and pay the superman over inflated prices for those phones.

There's a thread here somewhere with all the "marketing" terms people use to sell stuff.  An irritant to the more civilized collector in all of us.....   My favorite is the "Art Deco" model 500, but the list is endless......

Yea, art deco, and retro. With the internet what it is, these people don't want to take the time to simply look up what they are looking to sell.
And item descriptions, AE,WE, SC,ITT seems to headline a lot of these listings. Clearly an AE phone is called a Western Electric, or vise versa. Or even none of the above, phone's that are European, people try to call it a cross between AE, and WE.
A Google Search using the name of the phone, most are clearly marked. They miss it. More interested in just posting the items, and getting them sold, that's the most important thing. Packing with one thin piece of bubble wrap is another..

I remember buying my first 302 - paid wayyy to much for it...After that I went to eBay, where you can pick them up sometimes for <$25 shipped. Sites like shopgoodwill.com constantly show these types of phones allegedly going for rocket prices - although I think SGW is a shill house personally...

People are looking to get rich quick - hoping for an impatient buyer - like I think we all were at one time, those of us who will admit it anyways ;)

Although the relists will prove if the seller learned anything from their greed....
