Aches and Pains

I have had arthritis and gout for years. Pain that likes to move around. Now I am probably going to have a hip replacement. Hip aches all the time. I am used to living in pain, not a complaint...just the way it is. It could be much worse. I can do whatever I used to do, maybe just a little slower  8)

I have tried all the pain relievers, patches etc with no relief. Cortizone injections never did anything, but the lidocaine shot before the cortizone injection did help short term.

I see this on TV every night and decided to give it a try. Only a short term use of 1 day, but it does slow down the constant pain and is very easy to use. Just roll it on the area that hurts. I slept eight great last night and cannot remember the last time that happened. No throbbing aches keeping me awake.

No locker room smell.

Making it a very Happy Thanksgiving....Doug

What were you getting at here? Once a day?

Wife constantly complains her hips ache as well. Can't travel too far in car without squirming and complaining which kills any hopes of mine for a road trip down the coast to to California or elsewhere. Though our new Honda CR-V seems to have improved things a bit.

I can vouch for the information Doug just passed along.      When needed, I use the patch version of Salonpas.     My left knee is shot due to arthritis and past injuries.     I'm waiting for a knee replacement in the spring.   Anytime my knee flares up and becomes very painful, I put on 2 patches at 2 specific points on the knee, and that's it.
It was recommended to me by my next door neighbor who is a retired registered nurse.     As Doug says, it does work well.   It's available at most drug stores, and on Amazon.com and Amazon.ca.

Terry...just started using it, took a shower this AM and put it on. So far so good. No complaints from janet about the smell.

Jeff... I tried the salonpas patches, but they did smell medicinal. Plus they leave a mark after removing and take hair you would rather leave attached!

This is a short term trial for me, but I see a HUGE difference and it's about $13. So far, money well spent...Doug

Oh I get it now..., you've only been using it short term...first day. Thought you meant some limit to how often you could use it.

I'll try the liquid version of the product Doug, the next time I run out of patches, which won't be long.

Terry  ....   The package recommends wearing the patch medication for a maximum of 3 hours, then remove it.    That's usually enough time to get my knee settled down.

Doug  ....   How often do you apply liquid Salonpas ?

Three times a day it states it can be used.  That's what I aim to do

I thought I'd have a quick google of Lidocaine products in the UK, and, it seems it's popular, for one specific :o problem................  ;D

My CR-V is the best car I have had for back-pain.  I think it's because I sit more upright.  My wife's Accord, on the other hand is not so good.  Non-stop pain is not fun.  My wife and I look at each other and wonder what it will be like when we get old???

I have hip pain also and figured out I could almost eliminate it completely with omaga 3 esters. That is the pharmaceutical version of very potent fish oil. I buy it on eBay it almost stops my hip pain completely. Takes a few days. You can also get your doctor to prescribe it to you. If you watch it on eBay the price varies.

I also found out that for some reason riding a bike a few miles helps also I think it is the difference in motion.

I seem to be sensitive to lidocaine, so I don't use it. However menthol patches and liquid work well for me for most pains .

My wife was having a deep muscle issue with her shoulder , so I bought her this body buddy from Amazon. We got it Tuesday.

I used it a lot last night on various pressure points on  my back, hip and foot. I really noticed a difference when I got up.

Like most body work it seems to release toxins into the body so it is good to hydrate well.

Seven day trial period and it works well. Much better than than the patch. Good temporary relief. I have a appointment with a orthopedic surgeon on 12/28 and was wondering how I could last that long.  I commute into Boston and have a 12 minute walk from the train to the office and then another 12 minutes back to the train. That was killing me. As of now.....no worries....good stuff!..Doug

Yes, it does.

My right arm has been hurting since I did something to it trying to open a door at work. Bought the gel and applied it to my whole arm. Most of the pain went away so now I only apply on an as needed basis, once a week.

Gave some to my wife who has a hip problem. After using the gel, she went out and bought the patches. I does not cure the problem but it does deaden the pain and in the case of my arm, that allowed me to use the muscles correctly and they stopped hurting from misuse.

Thanks for the tip.

I got some liquid for my sister.  I guess her pain is more nerve based.  It didn't seem to do much for her, although I appreciate hearing about it.
