Manual NO.1 Uni Northern Electric Telephone

If memory serves, Dave PEI stated that you don't see many manual NO,1 Northern Electric phones. I was going through the to do phones and there was one sitting there. Bakelite dial blank instead of the dial. Clearly marked on bottom of the phone, NO.1. 4/54 is the date, I was a mere three months old.

Devils advocate....what would stop someone from taking out the dial and adding a dial blank?
