Title: Happy Halloween
Post by: Dennis Markham on October 31, 2009, 12:36:07 PM
The kids will have temperatures in the mid 40's for Trick-or-Treating here tonight, dry but very windy.  It feels like Halloween with fallen leaves everywhere.  I hope everyone has fun.  Don't eat too many of those little candy bars!

Great display. Rightb up my alley.
Happy Halloween everyone.
I was going to make a display, but Cactus looked out of place.

Dan, I think the idea for orange and black together came from you a while back.  If cactus is part of Halloween in your neck of the woods, then let's see it!  It would be fun to see scenes from all over the place.

Jorge, I bought that a while back when prices were higher.  It's a Stromberg Carlson.  I've been seeing a lot of orange ones on eBay lately.

By the way, the leaves came from my front yard (I picked out the best ones).  There are plenty more where those came from!  We had gusts to 40 miles per hour last night and sustained about 10-15 today.  Hopefully my neighbor will get them all when the wind finally settles.  :)

Very nice, Dennis.  It looks like an old telephone company advertising image.

Happy Halloween to all!

Nice shot, thanks Dan.  Trick-or-Treat is over here on the East side of town.  I had just over 70 kids come to the door.  Looks like I'm going to have to munch the left-overs!

The Municipality blows a whistle to start the Trick-or-Treating at 6:00PM and then again to end it at 8:00PM.

"Casper the friendly ghost. The friendliest ghost you know. Though parents fright, and, begin with fight, the children all love him so..... He always says "Hello", and, he's really glad to meet ya. No matter where they go he's kind to every living creature. Grown-ups don't understand, but, children all love him so. The kids all know that he loves them so.

Happy Halloween to all.  We've had an unusually slow year of trick or treaters, don't know why the slowdown this year.  I mean, what's not to like, you get to go to everyones house and most of them give you free candy.

Bwanna, Dennis;
You are right, most of my phones come from Michigan, Pennsylvania,  that area.

Dennis;
Is there any way to figure the stats without actually counting them ?
Can the Data base be sorted by State, or other factors ?

Dan, I'll look to see if the members names are stored by State, but I don't think so.

Happy Halloween everyone. No jumping out of phone out in the yard to scare off the kids and make them drop their candy for you. Hmmm, saying it out loud that sounds like a good idea!

Thankfully no TorTers here (we're not like the US where it's big thing, it's usually just halloween parties at peoples' houses or in the local schools, and strange people wandering the streets in overly-revealing spandex, which isn't always a good thing!!), not that I'd have noticed anyway, fell asleep not long after getting home from college and missed any goings on... ;D

Well, Halloween was mildly interesting this year...

I saw far more T/Ters in our neighborhood this year than ever before, and we have lived in this neighborhood for a decade now. The houses are more spread apart, so kids usually go to some of the more tightly grouped neighborhoods a few blocks away. With a 1/4 mile long driveway, we have only gotten 2 groups of trick or Treaters in all that time! ;D

Within a block, I saw not one, but TWO golf carts driving kids from door to door. At least with the traditional, age old tradition of walking, kids get some exercise while they beg for candy, but not any more... :o

I never liked Halloween all that much anyway. At least afterwards, we all get to look forward to the more cheerful mood of Thanksgiving and Christmas coming up soon. :)

Not possible.
If that was one of the first mobiles on the desk, then yes.
Poor service started with the liberalization of the phone market.

You are correct.
Service was paramount, given the age of the instrument.

Maybe you should go to settings?
I am not sure how to access that on your phone.
Good-luck,
Jim

I think the covid got to them while waiting for a call back on how to install the app. LOL

Most likely, the simplest explanation is always the most  probable answer.

So,  a modern telephone collector with a blue tooth candlestick phone dying from covid while awaiting customer service for the app,
I suspect the were timely in answering, it was the hold time that got him.
"Let me put you on hold while I check"
Just a guess.
