Sargeguy,

Just googled the  Providence Telephone Company building and it is currentlt available fror sale for a mere  $3,225,000 . Would be an interesti8ng addition to your collection  or   a great place to  live as it is now condos !

Yeah, it would be a great place to house the collection but the parking is really tough.  There are some PTELCO manhole covers up the street that I've been eyeing.

I was just in South County today, trudging around Great Swamp.

That is a neat post-card. I wish they had filled in the date. That would have been neat to know!

A new variant, "The number of our phone has been changed.  The new number is___________".  How exciting!!!

Great postcards. It would be interesting to Google/street view the addresses where the services were installed.

The addresses are both in South Providence, one house is still standing and the other was torn down to build a hospital.  I used Google street view because I try to stay out of South Providence if I can help it.

I do collect telephone related postcards but because of the high amount of reproductions I only buy used postmarked examples with the stamp in place. Take a look at the Phoneco site and see all the different repros Ron has.

I think the ones with writing on them are more interesting.

If they are postally used there should be a postmark with the date.
