Title: Old 302 Base Pedigree
Post by: gands-antiques on February 10, 2018, 10:22:13 PM
I have an old WE 302 base that has a triangular ringer mount that is mounted with two front screws and a separate layer/laminate on top of the network. I don't remember dates on any of the components but they may have been there. It is currently being used as a subset with a candlestick I will be taking out of town next week to an antique show.

A retired WE friend of mine thought it may have been a prototype.

Has anyone seen a 302 base like this or know what it is?

Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Gary

All new WE 302s used that type ringer mount by 6/52 -- perhaps sooner.

Wow, thanks.  I've probably owned 30-40 302s and never seen one like this.

Thanks a lot,
Gary

some of my 400 series phones have this mount. I ran into a problem with them when trying to change out the ringer..... not all B Series ringers will mount to this bracket.  for some reason, the hole specs are off on some ringers and the screws won't line up. the holes on the ringer has to be filed out for some bells to fit....

Thanks John,

I hadn't heard that about the 400 series.  I thought they were all the same.

Thanks a lot,
Gary
