I'm not even going to begin to guess what this is.

Leaving it up to much more knowledgeable people to figure it out. Dr Frankenstein looks like he had a hand in it though.

The cast iron back plate looks like a Norwegian or Swedish back plate from around 1900, Thhe phone mounted on the backplate cold more or less be a Northern.

Not the only on on ebay just now:

Seller neglected to say which part had Northern Electric written on it!

Obviously an AE dial and the entire steel box telephone could be an AE type 21. Everyone seemed to make one of these steel wall phones and I don't know how to tell them apart.

I like all the brass "terminals" all over the thing. Looks like they are likely just brass terminal studs mounted on existing holes through the backboard just to look like terminals. That leaves lots of remaining holes to screw it to the wall.

Overall, I think it is a bit of ingenious fabrication!

looks like it came out of the munsters phone booth lol
cool design for sure.

I like the gold pin-stripping on the phone body, almost helps tie it into the rather ornate back plate design. Can only imagine how heavy that whole set-up is.

Definitely like a Gothic take on the classic wooden wall phone!
