For the members on the other side of the pond.

Looks like bottom half is Gray and and the top half is Western.
The back looks to have been a 150 LJ at some point in time.

Was watching this. Was up for £500 last time and didn't sell. I think seller mentions phoneco.

Your thoughts guys, would you bid, how high?

He mentions Phoneco as a place to get the correct lock!! Has a couple of other payphones as well.

The bottom/back has all the original parts of a Gray 150.

The first two pictures are of the eBay one and the other two are of my Gray 150.

I do not know about the value of this payphone. If it is from Phoneco it was pieced together. It may have original parts and/or repro parts or mixed parts from different manufacturers. They have been discussed here before, maybe checking those previous threads will shed some light on it's value or one of our payphone experts will chime in.

Just to make sure I have understood correctly please Duffy, the 'Gray' is two phones pieced together?

The top being a Western not a Gray they would never have originally been together?

Was a 150 LJ originally with this base?

The hole for the top lock of that phone has been enlarged to fit a cam lock.
A real 3-slot top lock will now swim around in the hole.
That top is now garbage.

May I humbly make a suggestion.

If any of you want to REALLY learn about antique 3-slot
payphones I suggest you refer to the enormous amount of
REAL and AUTHENTIC information that is in the TCI library.
Look at actual catalogs and BSPs of the era.
You might also buy a copy of Ron Knappen's payphone book.
Stop depending on getting historical information by asking
questions of other users who in point of fact do not know
what they are talking about!

Point taken, you are correct, but so much to learn and so much to miss.
For example, I for one would not have thought to look in a catalogue/BSP for the top lock hole dimension for this phone - or even where to look for the dimensions of the currently unknown lock which is on the phone, so chances are I would have missed that. It is only thanks to you pointing it out that I/we now are aware. So thanks for that.
I'm sure there is much more you could tell us about this phone which is staring us in the face.
By the time I have found and waded through the correct BSPs etc, let alone made sense of them, the auction will be over.

I cross reference everything as a matter of course, and am always keen to learn, and not just about payphones.

Good to see you are still regularly looking in on CRPF.

It looks as if the base was a 150LJ as some point in time, but Stan is correct the top is junk now. Yes the top is a western or northern.

Thanks.
Not being read up on these enough it can get confusing as to originality when elsewhere I see references to Gray, Gray/Western.
