These may have been listed before and I missed them but I caught these two this morning. First I've seen of these Blue Tooth ready 500's on eBay. I remember these were discussed months ago on the forum with the price and source (builder). Now they are on eBay.

These were listed by the seller a few days ago

6) Last image below shows the two lighted dial option, each available for an additional $97. Three images to the right of the dial show the power jack and the internals before and after conversion, for posterity.

The file name for each image below corresponds to the numbered link above.

These Bluetooth phones were first listed last month, I believe, and looking at the seller's completed items we can see that two of the black $90 and $95 models have sold, but none of the color ones with the seriously high prices have sold.

John, you left out the most intriguing of all the phones, so I had to include it. It's a lighted dial 500 set. Not a 500U or 500P, but something this seller has rigged up with LEDs and I give him an A for effort. But he calls them "labor-incentive" rather than labor-intensive. You have to admit it's interesting to see. How do you think it was done? It seems to shine through the plastic, or maybe the plastic was channeled out somehow to let the light shine through from the back? I attached a picture of it. Look at the auction for closer shots.

I think it may have an LED light of some sort under the finger wheel.  I don't think it is attached to the finger wheel.  Such a light would probably be compact enough to go between the dial bezel and the finger wheel.  However, others may have a different ideas on this.

It seems quite clear to me that it has 10 LEDs, one for each finger hole or digit. They are imbedded into the dial bezel or inserted through hole drilled for the purpose. LEDs can be very tiny these days, perhaps ca. 2mm diameter at most for the small versions. Surface mounted devices are even smaller but hard to work with by hand since they don't have wires, only contacts.

The first post was put up in haste before going to work. I've since added the images for each of the links in the original post above

The 5th phone, the white phone, provided additional dial information. There are two styles of lit dials, according to the seller, and each of the examples posted by the seller are the two left images in the 6th image above. That 6th image also shows the power jack under the handset and the before and after conversion photos of the insides.

The lighted dial is available for an additional $97, according to the seller.

I agree and I made a post earlier with a blown up front image with arrows added pointing to the LEDS. Unfortunately it was a security risk.

If you want a non-lit coloured phone you could buy a black one and change the case. Alternatively, buy an XLink, take the circuit board out of the case and put it in a coloured phone of your liking.

You could always leave the end phone your choice out of the equation and just buy an x-link. Something that will work with more than just one phone.

Yes but I have several XLinks and it is fun, for example, to put one in the subset of an AE step base candlestick that is on show at the local telephone club and then discretely ring it.
